Though that 60's Capri was called a Consul . It had NOTHING to do with Consul, Zephyr and Zodiac range.. It was a two door Version of the Consul 315, the pre runner to Cortina to which most parts interchanged...Body parts didn't..
The first motors where 1340cc with 3 main bearings like the 1200cc 105E Anglia engine.. Most where 1500cc 5 main bearing Kent engine...
These engines when I was young I could put together with my eyes closed...

Your actully right that was the 1st FORD Capri and so is Brock07 in a way with the Capri name.
Even though the name Capri was used by a manufacturing division of Ford in the US it wasn't called a Ford Capri. It's technical but money could be gained or lost on it in a quiz.

I remember hearing that Ford were planning a new age Capri 5 years ago, so it seems like its been on the books for a long time, but will it actually be made or not?

As long as its RWD and can take a small block conversion like the old ones.
