Default New Bloke, AU XR6 VCT questions........

g'day everyone, the name's Matt

im 18 a lil later this year an thinking of getting an AU XR6 VCT.
What is the dash face and centre console area like to take off?
that circle-ish shaped bit around all the heater buttons an headunit an stuff, all the way up to the centre console......im planning to take it off for some minor mods
are they hard/tricky to get off without damaging? and how would i do it?

also what do the XR6's sound like with extractors a hi-flow cat and performance exhaust? any good, honestly? i really want a grunty beasty sorta sound ( considering im not allowed a v8 :( )

and along the lines of getting a TE50 bar made up for one (coz they need to be hybridised to suit the diff style of lights) whats the cost like for that? just the front bar

if there is anything else which is good or bad about the AU's please feel free to drop a post in here to let me know, also if anyone wants to show off their xr6 or xr8 to me to get me hooked thats also welcome
thanx
-Matt

Welcome to the site.
The XR6 VCT is a good car, look for a series 2/3 if possible and funds permit, as these got a few (a lot) of better things over the series 1.

Center fascia isn't that hard, hardest part is getting the old factory radio out. I made this tut a while ago not for taking the fascia off, but that info is in there:

It is for a series one, but the principle and basics of it are the same.

Exhaust mods will give it a good grunty sound, but it will still sound like a 6 at the end of the day. It will sound nice for a 6 kind of thing.

As for the front bar, you don't need a custom one made. Adam (falkeen) being the genius he is and after some persuasion made the "XR50" bar when he was at AWC:

Cheers
