Question Plastic air vent thing in side of boot

Does anyone know the exact purpose for this?...


everytime i go to close the doors you can hear the flaps on it move and its really annoying! woody and i are trying to fix it.

It would be to equalise the air pressure when closing the doors, otherwise it's a lot harder to close them.. That is my understanding of it.

I agree with that... if you want to "fix" them... open it up and put some padding around the flap door...

Yep, the noise you hear is the vent doing it's job.

Also helps the aircon and interior fan work better - when your windows are up and the aircon's on full that air has to go somewhere!

But it's in the boot tho behind the carpet? i don't understand how it would work for that?

I have on both sides clear tubing around the vent, Originally i thought it might have been air for the stock amp, but i seen it on the other side too. :

The carpet won't hold much wind/air back - it'll pass through no worries.
