Does anyone know if the new FG XR6 tyre size (245/45R17) fits on an AU3?
I currently have 235s on BA XR6 17" rims and am due for new tyres soon. I was thinking about using the new XR6 tyre size to boost the rolling diameter up closer to my original 16" wheel size (as the XR one is a little short), but I am concerned that the tyres may rub on the steering knuckle or control arm at the front as the current tyres sit very close and going up the extra 10mm may push it too far. Does anyone have 245s on 17" rims on their fronts or know if this is the case? |

You should be fine mate. Although the 245/45R18's will rub on the front, 245/40R18's don't and a little maths will show that 245/40R18's will have a larger diameter than 245/45R17's.
