Yes, it does look fuzzy, but there is a thread in site support that does not answer any questions on improving it yet, but its a work in progress.

FM is off making another sparkles hunter video - lost in yellow sub, but should be back shortly to help sort out the final design

cheers

It looks really crappy/ tacky, imo. It needs a gradient

I vote we have another poll, between number 2 and 5, but more than 24 hours.

The banner was selected in a fair and reasonable vote. Time was at a premium due to other factors therefore 24 hours was all that was avaliable.

Its not going to be everyones favourite, its not going to be perfect till its refined however it is the one selected by the members.

We could always just let the admins choose whatever they want....or we can abide by the members preferred selection?

Just as a warning - there will be some experimentation over the next couple of hours with various blends, settings and banner layouts. Please be patient while we play with this.

Cheers

Not a fan of it as it is now Russ - too big, makes my IE window want to scroll horizontally.

nice banner, but it needs to be a bigger resolution, i have my screen on a resolution of 1280 X 1024, which is quite average and its very pixelated, either that or you could make it so that it does not stretch and stays the same size no matter how big the window is.
just my 2c

I think we need to give it some time to sort out till we have a chance to play with it a bit further over the next day or 2

I dont think that saying quality has gone to the dogs is being unfair atm :(

I was only saying that it looks very pixelated, "The Australian Ford Forums" text is hard to read. THe quality of the banner size posted in the poll was very crisp, as it was enlarged the quality has suffered..

yeh it has a bit, but just stick it out whilst its "played with" and it will be worked out eventually! the other alternative is that the forums get closed whilst its sorted out...id rather just put up with it at the moment!

Could you copy the way Stevo had his no 4 laid out. The way he had the sponsors looked so much better.
It was much nicer and not so tacky.

I cannot believe some people......The banner that i made was at 72dpi @ 846 x 132. Of couse if you use a personal resolution of 1600 x 1200 or anything higher than 846 it's gonna look like crap. As I own my own business and am flat out all day, I don't get much time during the week, between work, wife & the kids. The process in making these banners takes time and fair ammount of knowledge in the graphics area. I am doing a much higher res version for anything up to 1600 x 1200 and am optimising it for dial up users as well. Just be patient please. That banner is far from done.

Cheers.

I don't know if that was directed at me or not, but I did not vote for the banner, I just don't like it at all. So I was not talking about that.

I was talking about the way the sponsors are on the bottom, that does not look so nice, I am sure lot's of people would help you with it, if you don't have time.

Steady tiger. Most of us know how much work has gone into this. Some are just never satisfied.

Its all ironing out loose edges. In think a few should remember this site has only been public for a fortnight. The results achieved thus far are something to be proud of by ALL involved! :

Well done guys! V good effort. As has been said, on larger resolutions, the banner is stretched. Maybe modify it, so that a certain strip is repeated/tiled so that it fills the screen, or keep it the one fixed size. #4, would have been easy to adjust to any resolution, as you can repeat the background, for x %.

Congrats firefox, well done!

I am going to close the thread until we can play around with the forums software and the image in question

I do appreciate it is a bit of a blue balls atm, but we are all in a learning stage.

There is an open thread in the support section if you have comments as you see changes happening that can help improve the site, and yes one of those are the sponsors Logos, but as I said FM is out making another Sparkle Hunter Video for the series.

Again, my thanks goes to Firefox and Seano for their outstanding efforts!

Cheers

Me Again

First of all I want to apologise to Stevo

In my haste to get things on the move I failed to look closely enough at the names of the people whom submitted the Banners, and must admit I got Seano and Stevo confused as the one.

Stevo, my apologies, and I want to thank you for your time and effort put into the banner design, and as i have said above, please accept a token of the forums appreciation a merchandise pack when it is produced.

In future I will ensure that I just get it right
