Default Polished intake manifold + throttle body..

Up on ebay

http://search.ebay.com.au/_W0QQsassZgurwinder351

claims around 18rwkw with both of them.

Would it be worth the investment?

It was for an EF, but never got fitted.

Will probably end up at around $600 for both of them. So about $30/rwkw

not bad

What does polishing the intake manifold and throttle body actually do? Does it just decrease the resistance to airflow or something?

I dont see 18rwkw from that. Buy it and find out?
I can't see you netting any gains from any throttle body work.(unless force fed)
As for the manifold well.. I doubt it.

The only real way to make power over the standard manifold and throttlebody set up is to go for a 6 individual throttlebody setup. But at $4000+ makes it out of reach for most.

SS Inductions stoped making the modded throttle bodies for the AU I6 because there was no power gain.

And Ive seen first hand an aftermarket bigger throttle body put onto an EF and dyno run on the same day and there was 1-2rwkw right up high in the rpm range.
A bigger throttle body MIGHT gain something on a heavily worked 6, but not on a basic modded 6.
So it makes sence not to bother with one unless your going for every last rwkw possible.
