Default Correct?

people, im organising a car show. i have made catagories for the entrants, they are as follows;

modern cars (2005 to current)
Post modern cars (1990-2004) (post modern cos they are no longer modern cars)
Pre classic (1980-1990) (pre classsic cos they are not yet classic)
classic (1980 back)

what does everyone think of the terms post modern and pre classic, do they make sense?

You have your pre and post mixed up. . Pre means before, post means after. No such thing as post modern, they are still in the design studio. Also 60s and 70s cars are considerd classic. 80s cars are Post classic. 50s cars are Pre classic. 90s are pre modern. 2000 onwards are modern.

Pre Classic would make you think its before classic, therefor making them older. It should be post classic. I think lol.

I thought technically a car more than 25y.o was classed as a classic.
Just what i was told...

I think your technicaly right there. I think in another 5 years 80s cars will be consdiderd classic but at the moment they are not generaly accepted as so. On this forum XD onwards is still under post classic.

25 yr's = Vintage.... my 4WD is vintage (25yr's and older) upped insurance by $500

That's true, there are hundreds of over 30 year old cars that will never be classics!

I stil have issues with cars accepting chrome bumbers as classic I mean VH commodore WTF

I am also in the process of organising our local event. We missed out last year but the first one was held the year before.

The above advise on the pre & post is correct, also remember that it is good to have a ute section as well. We run it as two different sections (utes and cars) and then have a "Vehicle of the Show" basically a contest between the best ute & best car.

Make sure your judges are unbiased or if you cant do that get a rep from each club that are showing plus someone who really has nothing to do with an entrant and they have to decide between them. Making up score sheets makes this easier to get all the points tallied for the eventual winners.

If theres anything else you would like to know give us a holla ;)

Don't forget peoples choice, one vote per person. That's the result I most want to know about when I go to shows.
