I saw that thread and was glad I ordered a Yella Terra Billet steel flywheel.... Have heard too many horror stories of stock flywheels coming apart....

Thanks for posting that up Dodge. Pretty sobering reminder of what can go wrong. That dude is sooo lucky he still has his feet...

Reminds me of a story in Street Machine about a guy that built himself a replica Lotus Cortina. He was turning some big RPM when the original cast iron pulleys on the front of the engine let go. One piece went through the front wheel, he lost control, and wrote off the Cortina.

The 'real' Lotus Cortina's ran steel pulleys.....it's the little things that will get you.

Now why would you wanna do that? Good steel flywheel, ceramic or brass button disc and the Aussie Iron/Steel toploader belhousings will be alot better than an organic disc and iron flywheel in a Alloy bell....
