Default Visions of Mad Max I

Just got back from going for a criuze with the Mrs, we went to Maldon in Central Vic. We parked the Mustang and started walking towards a cafe, and there was about 20-30 Bikes (mainly H-D's)they were getting ready to go, lots of noise etc. One of the bikies backs his bike into the street gives it a rev and then there was just plumes of smoke from the biggest burnout. The whole town just stopped like everybody was frozen while this was going on. Reminded me of the scene of Mad Max with the bikies when they go to pick up the Night Rider. Would of been really freaky if he started doing doughnuts.

No pics, SORRY!! Not a police car was to be seen, which I thought was strange considering the noise levels.

P.S. I did not see anyone reach for their mobile!

Ironically I only live 20min away from Clunes which is were the scene from Mad Max was Filmed. The doughnut mark was on the road for years after the movie was filmed because the road had never been re-surfaced.

Damn, i was just gonna mention Clune's. I'm a huge Mad Max fan. As for the other side of the topic, the bikie's get away with way too much compared to us car enthusiast's.

Yeah as long as they stick in a bunch and there is no straglers in the group they rarely get done.

Exactly, i cruised down Mercer St this morning on my way into town and the local Harley Shop must've had a meet happening. Bike's everywhere. On my way out of town i was behind a Bronze. He drove past without even a second glimpse.

If that had of been a car meet, i guarantee he would've stopped to see how many yellow birdie's he could have handed out.

Why are the Bronze scared of the biker's ?

Getting a bit of topic but anyway, a few years back I was travelling on the Napean HWY near Moorabin and I had a Police car two cars infront of me. Then came a thunderous roar of a Harley doing easily 30-40klm over the limit and he weaved right past us, and the Police did not even flinch. Might have had something to do with the Colours on the back of his vest, club with a bit of a bad rep.

My point entirely, Cop's are scared of bike club's.

Can't say I blame them. I know a few bikies and I'd hate to try and arrest them.

Funny about that eh... I guess there are alot of reasons though none of them good. Not only fear of being hassled by the rest of the bikies, obviously theres a few crazies who might get violent too... But i think some of it has to do with bikies tend to have well paid club lawyers and such, and typically get off quite easily from minor charges.

I always wondered how harleys in general got away with noise pollution when cars cannot. how do they even get registered like that? is it just fear?

on similar note, Ive had neighbours complain about my car starting up on a sunday morning... which i admit is loud but i save it for weekends or special occasions and never too late. Ive talked to the bikies over the road and they've never had a complaint. When they often have 3-4 LOUD bikes go in and out late at night all through the week. Funny what a Harley does for intimidation factor
