How weak are these autos on the 4 speed fords.

The XD station wagon we use to go the summernats full loaded has still got its 3 speed auto from the factory (1979) & has never had the iron head off & its nearing the 300,000kms mark. Only general service, tyres & radiator plus some rust.
But a bus to drive compared to the AU.

It you are a city driver primarily you should be able to handle super lows... Though Im not expert on the state of Melbourne roads, I just know that Canberra has pretty good roads..
No way I'd go superlows in Sydney.

The sound of your car scraping along our ty roads would be terrifying.

THIS is why i am lowering my CAR.

How low should i go a little under standard XR height... it has to be practical with the TS 50 kit on it. (XR50 front) :

Any preference why the XR50 from over the TS50 front???
AWC are looking into making the TS50 front for the low-series bonnet models ... saves changing your headlights I guess.

I had a look at monroe shockers for "LOWERED" falcons and they are the same "HEIGHT" as standard tickford option ones for the AU,,is this correct, or is there only a height difference for the rears??

They wanted 3,000 for a reco.

It developed a problem in Melbourne and got me home. Started to slip after a while when it got warmed up. Transmission place gave me 300 k's before the box would be stuffed. I got about 60. Unfortuantley, it was during the trip to trade it in that it packed it in. DOH

Anyway, the car had 180,000 k's on the clock.

The report from the tranny place was 'All fluid levels are normal, but transmission fluid has metal shavings and fluid colour is a dark grey"

The best price I can get on Kings Super Lows so far is $280 and $110 to fit, the other place I tried was $296 and $155 to fit.

You Can get them cheaper on ebay but postage is the killer.
