I have 2 bits of jewellery here, one is stamped 925, the other is 999.. can someone tell me what type of silver they are, and any other numbers and their meanings?

yeh i think that just means the % of silver content.. 925 being 92.5% and 999 being 99.9%....
but dont quote me on that.. |

Would that be the same for gold? I have a 9-carat gold bracelet, witrh 375 stamped on it. so it would be 37.5% (9/24)

nah D4V3, my chunky bracelet is only 925, and this small star sign charm thingy was 5g pure silver 999 lol
