Default Just bought an XR5

Hi Guys,

The Grey Ghost is on the way out- in its place, an LS XR5T in Electric Orange with the Leather Recaros.
I'm stoked! : :

Congratulations. I have been thinking very hard about treating myself to something nice, and the XR5T in Orange is top of the list at the moment. Unfortunately I cant buy anything until next year, but I can dream. The list also includes Mini Cooper S JCW, Mazda 3 MPS, Renault Megane, F6 and 135 coupe...the most serious competitor is the MPS. But there is no colour around ATM like the electric orange...looks awesome.

Thanks mate!

Yea, there are some lovely little hatches out there!

MPS didnt really grab me in terms of ride/driving dynamics and looks.
Too nose heavy and too much torque steer for my liking.

Can't wait to pick the XR5 up. The Orange looks wicked

If I had a signature as long as yours. You might have spent more on mods than on the original XR5..

And thats what I decided to do....Rather than spend thousands on modding my car (and i considered suspension etc...) i'd rather spend the money on something thats going to cost me half what it would in modding privately....ie...Turbo....5 to $10000...no way...suspension...2K...Zorst...400....Engine Mods...yea....nah....I'll just get an XR5 thx

Nice one Bucket. Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy!!!

(And no smart comments from anyone about my list of mods please!!!. Trouble is, if I bought an XR5, I'd still end up spending and even bigger bucket of money modding that!! )

Well, I haven't stopped driving her all weekend, best thing is, my Girlfriend actually loves it and wishes she had one too!!

Took the Asbo down to Mandurah on the weekend and had this bloke (cop?) by the side of the road desperately try to get me with his Speed Gun..Why do I say Desperate? he saw me coming too late, singled me out and frantically tried to get a bearing on me...too bad I was doing the speed limit

It's a beautiful car to drive... really makes the C1 Chasis Glow! I'm still getting used to the way a Turbo engine performs but it's quite a predictable unit- fantastic in gear acceleration makes overtaking a breeze. Love the submarining red lights in the cabin too...really nice effect!
One very, very happy XR5 Owner here :
