Default Aftermarket wheels

Ok guys, im new to this site... infact i never thought id see the day i would buy a ford but hey, I couldnt help myself haha.

Anyways, im picking up my standard fiesta LX this week. Im thinking of getting some aftermarket wheels just to beef it up a little. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or even know whats available for them at the moment? I havent been able to find many. Only want to go 16 or 17".

Even if people have pics etc that would be a great help. Im not going all out as this is my daily driver, I have other toys that i can spend up big on haha.

Anyways, thanks for any help... I cant wait to pick up the new beast.

Cheers,
Matty

Howdy and Welcome,

Either 16s or 17s will suit perfectly. Your need 4 x 108 with an offset i cant remember(someone metioned it on the forums). Pic below is the Focus MP3 17inch which can be bought from any Ford Dealer.

I know there's still some of these available they're 17x7 Speedy Arrius's, on clearance special at the moment, you should be able to get a set for a good price.
BTW standard fitment is 4x108 52p offset, most wheels around will be 45p but these ar a 52p so they fit a little bit better.

You'll have fun looking for wheels in the 4x108 offset but do your research and you'll find something you like. 17s fill the guards pretty nicely too without too much of a sacrifice of ride or practicality.

Thanks for the responses guys... looks like ill head down to a few wheel shops with the sizes, offset measurements etc and see what i can find. Thats if anyone is actually helpful, i have never had luck in wheel joints.

Id really like a set of those MP3's but they are hella expensive for what they are, but maybe at the end of the day, i might just have to stick to them to be safe and happy, rather than sorry.

Scareybear - your car looks nice as mate. What springs do you have in that? Any warranty issues with lowering them? And how do u find the ride with 17s and lowered springs??

Once again, cheers for help.. and keep the ideas, suggestions, recommendations coming!

Whilst the genuine MP3 17s from Ford are a little expensive, you could maybe look into some Diablo Racers

http://www.tempetyres.com.au/product...t=&part_no=765

At that price I know I'd be looking to spend a bit more on upgraded the rubber too. ;)

Ive got a set of Xr4 rims with near new tyres. One wheel has a small scratch and the tyres have done maybe 100km. Will swap for 15" Ghia alloys with good tyres and some cash

How much are you chasing for them? I dont have Ghia alloys, but i may be interested in just the wheels and tread.

I really just want an easy changeover. The wheels were only on the car when it was trailered from the dealer to my workshop (and got the scratch from the trailer). My son tried them on his Subaru (yes, it has been converted to Escort/Fiesta PCD) for a day, but they were too big and too fancy for sand.

If I can find a good set of Ghia wheels and tyres I will let you know how much I need.

I used King springs, only 35mm lower, it was firm but not harsh, I accepted that warranty wouldn't cover the suspension any more.
I think the wheels were the best looking at the time (flame suit on) as I didn't want the 'factory' look and I think they suit the car, the only issue I had with them was that they're pretty heavy, so handling was comprimised a little.
Whereabouts are you? I may be able to put you onto a wheel shop that may be a bit more help.

Kind of on topic, but I'm due to replace a couple of tyres on my WQ Zetec, and was wondering if anyones know of the best (cheapest) place to get the factory continentals. Or, if anyone has any other ideas for tyres and or wheel and tyre packages.

Cheers,

Dennis

Hi All.......i went to a bridgestone store looking for wheels. The man said there is a new wheel from Speedy due for release in about 3 weeks that fit the Fiesta. They are called LITE 9 and are black with a red stripe on the rim and look nice. If you go to google and type in "speedy lite 9" search the web and they are about 3rd on the list. I am gonna get them for mine (maybe). they will be available in 15" 16" and 17" i am told.
