Hey guys
I have a problem when the ignition is on... if i put my foot on the brake pedal.. the dash lights & Radio lights ect (Illumination lights) come on.. Also the parkers come on tooo.. and now... sometimes when u turn the car off you can take the key out and cars still runing till take the foot off the brake.. this all happend since i went to change a brake globe that was broken.... but found out.. its not the globe... it just doesnt work anymore... (globe worked in tail lights spot) some of the fuses looks brown n crusty on the metal bit... i replaced some last nite with no change.. Im not to sure... My thoughts were its all related to the brake so issue with the brake pedal switch... But im after some more thoughts.. Anyone had this issues before? |

i'd also be checking the trailer wiring and plug if you have one, just to make sure there are no wires that have rubbed thru insulation and are touching each other. Also possibly look at replacing the globe holder for the globe that wasn't working properly as this could also be causing the issue if it is cracked

My dads car was doing the exact same thing 2 days ago. Turned out to be an internal short inside one of the stop/parker globes in the rear. The power was cross feeding through the globe when you put your foot on the brake. Change your stop/parker globes in the rear. See how that goes. It will at least give you a good starting point. Other than those check the trailer connection plug.

I'll put money on the TRAILER SOCKET First (if its got one ) Or If it has been cut off by a previous owner and you cant see it look under the bumper or in the boot under the mat , its usually a matter of time when some bonehead cuts it off just before they sell it (or pinch it) that a strand or two will touch the one next to it , I once saw a genius gas fitter sandwich the trailer loom on a land cruiser between the tank mount and the floor pan !!!! and guess who the lucky B-----d was who fixed it ????
