lol , funny you should mention that ! , nearly 17 years back - When doing my fitting and turning appreneriship it seemed it was fun for the guys back then to play jokes on you as an apprentice! . For fitters and turners it was to hang you upside down from the overhead crane tied up , then they drop ya pants and paint you balls blue with blue metal marking ink !, this suff on your hands alone stains for months !. I got as far as being hung (trying to fight them off the whole time) upside down until i threatened to kill everyone , and i was realy serious too, i was realy peed off !!!!! - it was no longer a joke then , they let me down then, was the last prank they ever played on an apprentice ! .

Hi Mrs Cob115,

We are the opposite here but hubby is a very quick learner (about Fords)

I learned early when my father was racing and tinkering with his cars. Best advise I can give is to be there & help with what you can, the terminology will come to you as you go. I am still learning myself but it is a great feeling when you can stand there chatting to a bloke about cars & sometimes know a little more than him. A real achievement is if someone asks about a problem they are having and being able to respond correctly

I remember being at a party with some people we didnt know very well at the time, and, (well within earshot of us) these guys are crapping on about their engines......
One says...
I've got a 351 Boss in my street car and I can rev it to 8000!!.....trying to bignote himself.....
Thats when he made the mistake of saying to my wife, who he'd only just met...Oh, but you probably wouldnt know about stuff like that eh'.... :
Condesending tool....
Her reply....8000rpm...wow...Boss 351....thats the one with the 4 boltmains, 4V heads and mechanical valvetrain isnt it?
If your turning it to 8000....I hope your using a stud girdle...
Errr...whats a stud girdle?.....so she explains.....
The look on his face was priceless....thats my girl :
