Gday guys

Time has come again to upgrade the wifes family/shopping car AU2 FAIRMONT GHIA.

So Im going to sell the ghia to help fund the new car what do you think its worth in the real world,Trade in and private sale as tommorrow im going to a dealer to possibly trade it in if the new car checks out?


So its a 2000 AU2 Fairmont ghia,VCT, 70,000ks ,auto,black leather,bf XR8 18" wheels new tyres,sparkling burgandy, 10 months rego NSW, over serviced regularly!!!!!! by me.,new slotted rotors,2300kg hayman reese tow bar and then the usual ghia accessories etc........It drives like new and is very straight and tidy bar a couple minor of paint scuffs,under bonnet is like new.

So be honest guys whats it worth you wont hurt my feelings!!!!!! : :

It will go on ebay this weekend after a good detail.

PS: if any one wants the wheels let me know I will sell them separatly so long as you have something alloy to replace them with.

By my reckoning, you'd get $7-8k trade in, and around $10k private.

Looking at selling mine (well, the wife drives it nowadays only) and think the above figures would be reasonable.

Timing is the issue, you may find it takes a while to shift it privately just due to the market, so if you've got your eye on a new motor then trade in may be the answer !!

When you see BA Ghias going for 12k (not all the time, but I've seen a few), I reckon 9-10k for yours. I'd buy it for 10k if I were in the market. I think you should leave the BF 18s on it though, they suit it so well I think they're a real selling point.

I'd almost fly to NSW to buy it for 8K.

If you were in Melbourne and I could see it drive it etc, I'd go more.

It really is a nice looking car.

ok,guys got offered $5k for it at a dealer today for it, he nearly fell over when he saw the ks on it,He said he was sorry and it is wellworth over $10k privately but the dealer was a citroen dealer and didnt really want it.

So Im thinking around $9000ono its yours if any one wants it!!!!!!!!!

11 months rego.NSW It wont have gas now as I dont want to sped any more on it so the parents are getting the gas conversion for there AU XR6.


I found a few more territories at the auctions today so Im ready to buy if someone takes this off my hands.

i have found setting a reserve and a very minimal starting bid like 2 grand works well

yes,but then you get 400 questions asking for the reserve price,this way there is no guessing, the price is fair and transparent ,other wise you get people bidding just to find out the reserve as well.

that is a nice car!!!! its a crap time to be selling though. you may have to take the trade. but i think they will offer around 6 on the trade in. even possible 5. which is ridiculous and insulting. but the market it dead.

And bought the wife an SY AWD 6spd territory ghia 55ks in lightning strike today.

So its AAAAAALLLLLL good!
