Does anyone know what variety of plastic the AU factory intake tubing is made of? I'll be making some mods to the throttle body end piece soon which will need some plastic welding done. I have the heat gun and need to get the plastic rods to suit the plastic. There are 2 types of rod, one suits ABS and the other is for PVC.
So, which is the intake tube - PVC or ABS?

Definetly ABS. Dont know of anything made of pvc on car.

when i did the same thing i got another intake pipe and cut strips off using that for filler rods

Now that sounds like a good idea. I've got a spare too... due to the way it was drilled to fit the LPG originally, it split through the sealing ring and is in unuseable condition.
My first thought was ABS, but then I started to wonder, I see a lot of poly (PVC) black water pipe.
