Default Your DTE On full tank

Whats your distance till empty after you have an accurate reading on a full tank?

The HIGHEST i can ever make it display whilst cruising is 470km's...quite sad really.

How about you lot?

271 it keeps going back to around town, not that it ever makes 271 to a tank lol.

Best I have seen was 660 odd after a lot of highway driving.

This is not a true reading of what you will get out of a full tank of juice.
It is a estimation of what you will get from the average consumption of fuel from recent driving.
I fill up and sometimes it tells me 450 and other times it tells me 600. All depends on where and how I have been driving. City/suburbs - stop/start all the time or open road.

I realise that, thats why i said mine shows 470 after a calm easy cruise. Thats the highest i can make it show. Perhaps a 3 hour high way drive would show more..

Yeah i managed 967km round trip a few years back. I got a photo at above 900 something. The DTE was bloody massive. hit 999 and stayed the for a while from memory.

I drove to sydney, picked my late nan up, then drove some of the way back home ha! I filled up because i though my guage was broken!

I've had mine at over 800 after driving to Sydney and back it all depends on the driving conditiond and the weight of your right foot.

My old '98 Forte showed 999 DTE filling up at Shepparton, returning from Melbourne from Iron Maiden concert.

My manual '01 XR6? Usually about 690 - 720 DTE. Thats what I usually get too, according to the trip metre.

ya got that right...

It would be interesting to have 4-5 falcons of the same spec's, different km's and owners drive a decent distance at the same pace together. If you found significant differences between efficiency it would be a good way to determine what needs fine tuning without to much stuffing around.

I usually get high 600's, low 700's. It takes a measrement of the k's per litre and does it fairly quickly, thats why you can lose 100k's off on quick squirt, as it calculates you have changed your driving pattern and changes the DTE accordingly.

the usual is around 600 - 650

and i usually get 500 - 600 from the tank (one bonus of living so far from everything, highway driving)

Meh, get serious

This was after the drive to geelong to get my hard lid. He returned economy of 8.5L/100km for that trip, and i know it could be less if i tried.

Usually though, round town it goes back to high 500's, low 600's

Cheers
