Is this correct? Ford's website lists no cruise control option. Was kinda looking at one, but no C/C = disappointment.
How does the TDCi compare to the XR5T? Anyone tuned either yet?

You can have it fitted aftermarket. The unit is made by Autron, and plenty of the guys over at the XR5 Turbo forum have had it fitted and are happy with it. They had it done as part of a group buy, and paid between $700 - $800 per car. Normal price is about $850 I think.
My XR5 is reasonably tuned, and it goes like the proverbial off a shovel. As a general guide, it offers about the same rolling acceleration performance as an stock FG XR6 Turbo, but is a lot more nimble around corners. TDCI is a great option too, with plenty of tuning options, although it will never be anywhere near as quick as a modified XR5, but it also uses nearly 40% less fuel. Be aware though, that it's not just speed you are sacrificing if you buy a TDCI. You don't get the Recaro's with brilliant side bolstering (in fact you get no side bolstering at all!), you don't get the big brakes, body kit, sports suspension, sports steering wheel, 18" rims etc. However you do get cruise control!

Thanks for that. What tuning options are there for the XR5T and the TDCi engines?

On the engine side of things for the TDCI, you can get ECU Remaps, air intakes, intercoolers. You can also get some good aftermarket suspension.
Due to the popularity of the ST (what the Europeans call the XR5), there is no end of tuning options for the XR5: All of the above plus bigger turbo kits, full turbo-back exhaust, LSD, Brake upgrades, coilovers etc. I believe there are some ST's in Europe putting out around 360 BHP! This is probably the best one stop shop around: http://www.european-parts.net/catalo...b23b8cf31e3662 The XR5 goodies are under Focus MK2 ST, and the TDCI stuff can be found under Focus Mk2.

Thanks for the info. Took a Mondeo XR5T for a drive today, a very nice car. Personally I think it's comparable to a G6ET for trim/features, but obviously without the same straight line punch.
My problem now is would I choose a Focus XR5T or a Mondeo XR5T, or a Mondeo or Focus TDCi. I like the 6 speed auto Mondeo TDCi, drives superb. Decisions, decisions. Bugger :

gotta love it how mods and paid members give the adv to search before you post.
Would of thought it common logic to follow your own instructions. This thread has been done to death. it gets annoying when someone brings it up again.

I would choose the new LV XR5 Focus, with cloth and no stripes and fit the aftermarket cruise. The sound of those things is so addictive! You don't hear it in the Mondeo XR5 at all which is a bummer.
