Default CAI for BA XR8

Hey all

I'm interested in purchasing a Bluepower CAI for my 04 XR8 ute. I live on the south side of Brisbane, what is the easiest way to purchase one? Do you post them? And whats the price?

Cheers
Peter

Thanks Chris. I went in to Powertorque this morning and picked up the CAI. Didn't I feel like the odd one out driving in the driveway surrounded by all those Commodores tho. But they were great to deal with. So now I just have to wait till Saturday morning to install it

The sound is to die for, and they extra responsiveness is good to.

But my avg fuel economy has not improved. Done about 1000 kms now and if anthing it has gone up slightly. And I haven't changed my driving style either.

Can anyone else share any light on this?

My understanding was that with the same driving style, fuel consumption goes down as it takes less effort to get the car moving.

Do you only have the box with no other mods, no edit, exhaust, etc ?

Hey Chris,

You tuned my BA in Canberra back in 2005. It's still going sweet, but I'm due for a new exhaust and new cats. I've also just installed a 3.73 diff. So I guess I'm up for a tune - so what the hell I might as well get a new BPR CAI.

My question is - I already have the SS CAI - are there any benefits to leaving it installed and routing this air into the BPR CAI as well?

How about a shaker into the CAI? Although perfomance increases are unconfimed, they sure look slick.

Hi mate,

we have investigated this - the SS inductions will not be of any assistance to the BPR airbox. The airbox is better than any other setup, and best used on its own.

The shaker will have what i would call a "negligible" affect in stop-start driving, however on open road cruising, it will be more of a benefit.

Hope this helps - for details on airboxes in ACT, speak to

Kit @ Gentech 0262 410577

Regards

Chris
