Default You Guys Are Famous

Just opened the Cars Guide in the "Herald Sun" Page 44 talks about your meet this weekend and even gives the address and details. It shows an Red AU1 XR in a photo. So check out page 44, if I get a chance I will scan or take a photo of the article and post it here. It also shows the web site address, so there could be some interest on the site. Good news.

Good stuff, wonder how they found out about it. The AU is still alive and kicking compared to what others are led to believe.

Gee you think they could have shot an email off to one of heaps of the people on there with Hot AUs to ask permission to use a good photo. That picture isn't very inspiring. :

I think that was the idea; to show the car as uninspiring (ie just the way it was portrayed on release in 98).

But it would have been a better idea for them to show an enthusiasts mad AU and a little insert picture of the promo shot.

Ah Well, Crap photos of an AU haven't put anyone in this area off.

I sent it in to them the week before the event and it originally read as the following, but they completely re-wrote it and got the day wrong, and got rid of a AU lineup photo from the Sorrento meet that I supplied.

Dear CarsGuide,

I’d like to have an event included for next week’s (Nov 14) CarsGuide paper. The event is on Saturday 15 November, 2008:

AUFALCON.COM ALBURY MEET
Calling all Ford AU series fans, come and meet other AU
enthusiasts and members from the aufalcon.com club.
There will be some great AU Falcons, Fairmonts, Fairlanes,
XRs and T-series vehicles on display as well as a BBQ and
cruise. Members from Vic, NSW, ACT and Qld will be
attending. Meeting at Noreuil Park, Ebden Street, Albury,
NSW from 11 AM. More details found at aufalcon.com.
---

Thanks,

Andrew.
