Default New posts problem

I'm sorry if this has been asked. I'm hopeless at search and couldn't find anything on it.

I read the forum mostly at work, where I'm forced to use IE. I use new posts and mark posts as read to keep track of everything. The trouble is the forum doesn't always log me out at the end of the day, even though I do and get the popup box confirming it. Next morning the only new posts I get are the ones since I fired up ie, so I miss everything that was posted overnight.

I've also had really limited sucess with search. It doesn't like a lot of the ones I construct and returns no results.

So can anyone suggest a way to search posts since a certain time/date or something ?

I obviously read on 1% of what's posted, but if I make a post someone replies and expects an answer it's rude not to reply...

BTW the forum is a tremendous resource. My thanks to those involved in all capacities.

For no particular reason except it's funny: :

Your best changing your user options to receive an email if someone replies to your post, otherwise I understand what your saying but the problem may be with how the cookies keep track of what your doing.

Try to log out and delete all cookies and see what happens then
