Hi,
Newbie to the forum! Have loved reading all the posts. I havent found the info about KAs that I need tho. After a recent service at NRMA, the mechanic told me my '01 manual KA needs a valve adjustment. He quoted $250 for this. Does this seem like a reasonable fee? My Dad has worked on cars for years & said he could do this for me, but we need to know what type of valve actuation the KA has. Does anyone know if the adjustment can be done with a set of feeler gauges? (lol i have no idea what I've just asked but I'll pass the answer onto my Dad!) Thanks heaps! |

The engine is an Endura-E, basically the same as the old "Kent" engine from the 60's.
It uses over head valves, so shouldn't be too hard to adjust if you know about these things.

PS: Bet ya smiling today after the League last night eh John? By the way "KAbaby", $250 sounds a lot to adjust valve clearances to me, but then I guess your Dad already knows this by the sounds of it. Maybe get a hold of a Haynes Service Manual for the Ka and get your Dad to adjust them, maybe your local library might have a copy?
