hey RJ089 where did the two little black/blue wires go and i also have a small black wire and a small white/purple and small grey/white left over i have done the speakers and the 4 main wires desperately need help

I don't believe the black and blue ones get used mate. Nor do the really thin white/purple and grey/white ones.

Ok thanks the little black one doesn't get used either?
How did you mount the player,the facia i have has got no housing to support it, it looks exactly the same as your facia |

No I don't believe so.
Best way to check is to re-connect the battery and see if the stereo works. play some music and make sure the speakers are working, and if you've connected an amp, make sure they only come on and power speakers when the stereo is on. My stereo came with a mounting sleeve. A metal thing that slides over the outside of the head unit and fits into the fascia, then you bend a few tabs to stop it moving around.

Thanks heaps BlackLS. I'll check it out.
I'm interested to know also. For those of you who have got aftermarket head units. What have you done about the radio controls on the steering column? can they be removed without leaving an ugly hole in the column? A mate of mine is pretty sure you can get some sort of mount that will allow the connection of certain major branded head units to the steering column controls. I'll post up a link to the product once I've got more information on it to see you'r opinons.

They leave an ugly hole. You can try it out by pushing a small screwdriver into the hole in the back of the controls, which will unclip the control.
It then simply pulls out.

i got my keys from ebay uk.. it was only $10 or so..
i dont have a major brand aftermarket headunit but it supports the steering column controls sorta.. i havent got it hooked up though, it only does volume up down though i think.. |
