The timeless question on every car enthusiasts lips for years. "Who has Australia's quickest street car?"

Finally an Australian first!!

Muscle car Promotions is proud to present ‘Street car Superstars’. For the first time in Australia, an event dedicated to finding the country's quickest genuine street driven cars. The results will leave no doubts and lay all rumours to rest, the ultimate test for car and driver.

Taking place at Western Sydney International Dragway (WSID) on the 26th of January 2009 (Australia day), Street Car Superstars will be a race meeting incorporated with a compulsory 45km street cruise to be completed by all competitors in order to qualify them as a true street driven vehicle.

Competitors will assemble at WSID and head off on a preset cruise before returning to the track for scrutineering and racing to commence. Seven (7) different classes of racing have been designed to cater for all types of vehicles and drivers. While some classes will utilise the ‘heads up’ style of racing, others classes will reward consistency with a ‘dial your own’ format.

All racing will be run on street ‘DOT approved’ tyres.

Generous prize money is on offer for all class champions and runners up and a considerable sum for the over all fastest run of the day who will be crowned the 2009 ‘Street Car Superstar’.

The meeting will cater to all types of racers including those who do not wish to take part in the street cruise. Pro Outlaw classes have been designed for those with purpose built drag cars who still want to compete for prize money in their own class. These entrants will be allowed to race on a full slick tyre, however they willl not be eligible to claim the "Street Car Superstar” crown.

The evening will end with a round of ‘anything goes’ grudge racing. Putting all entrants in with a chance of claiming the prize pool!!

For those muscle car owners who wish to stay on the spectator side of proceedings. A 500 car muscle car cruise will depart from Liverpool and arrive at WSID, where the 500 vehicles will be parked in the pit area in a static display while the owners can enjoy a day of spectacular drag racing. An extensive trade alley and children’s amusement area will complete the picture and ensure that ‘Street Car Superstars’ is an event for the whole family!

Australia day 2009 will see Muscle Car promotions introduce a brand new concept to the Australian car scene. The Country's biggest and most successful muscle car cruises have been a dress rehearsal for the ultimate street car event on these shores…

See you there…
