im just wondering how to check the air filter on my sisters focus. I started to remove the screws holding the airbox lid down but i realised i need to remove the pipe from the airbox lid to the throttle body because i couldnt access some screws.
My problem is i dont know how to remove the '0' clamps holding the pipe on to the throttle body. Is a special tool needed to remove and take it off?? |

what type of focus?
on my tdci its pretty easy.. 4 screws (i think, its been a while) all can be access with a ratchet, no need to take off any piping |

I dont know the model, but its a late 06 model, so current shape.
I had trouble taking it all off and i think its more than four screws. I tried it a while ago now, but i stopped cause i couldnt access one of the screws. I only want to check it now cause the 30 thou service is coming up |

If it does have the round silver clamps on the hose they will only be a hose clamp which you can loosen with a flathead screwdriver until it moves enough. You should be able to lift the lid off the box with the intake pipe still attached though.

Yeah use a flat head, there is sort of a little hook that you get the screw driver into and lever the clamp off. Make sure you replace it with a regular hose clamp.

Yeah there is, either with some long nose pliers or 2 flat heads, or a combo of both... but a screw on clamp that costs 20c at Supercheap gets my vote.

Plus the worm drive hose clamp will see a few more uses than the once only clamp type that Ford use.

 Considering Ford only change the air filter for the Focus after 60,000kms.
