The best way to get all the information you want on JMM products is one quick phone call. Jim or Brendan will give you all the info you need.

I know... a bit of it anyhow. In this case though I'll let Brenden explain it as I dont want to get something wrong and spread misinformation.
Needless to say, its not a tweecer and it is not the same as a unichip/exceed/chiptorque.

this could be a long post, here we go....
The JMM Sequential tuner, unlike other interceptor units, takes complete control of the injection system in your vehicle to control the fuel injectors. In turn the ignition control system in the JMM tuner simply takes control of crank and cam sensors and allows us to manipulate ignition timing. Most inteceptors simply increase or decrease a voltage to a sensor, for eg map sensor, to adjust fuel injectors. This causes a problem as the Cars ECU also uses this sensor to control the ignition timing. This can, and in some cases make tuning very hard and also unaccurate thru all the rev range and at differing conditions like increased or abnormal air temps, or cold winter mornings. The JMM Inteceptor takes over the actual injector system, ie we cut off the injector wires and join our ecu to them. This in turn does not effect any other functions your standard ecu has. Other functions of the JMM Inteceptor are boost control, 2 aux outputs, 2 aux inputs and variable boost control (turn it up and down)if needed, map sensor clamps and maf clamps, MAF meter idle control systems. Built in 3 bar map sensor for turbo tuning etc. The unit can also be removed and a blanking plug installed to return to factory tune if needed. The JMM Ecu is a perfect upgrade for simple tunes n/a or turbo or great for turbo upgrades on non turbo vehicles. Brenden

Is there any benefit over using a full aftermarket computer like a Wolf or Haltech?

Hi Dan,
Biggest advantage is the cost. $1890.00 Fitted and tuned versus $3000 or $5000 for aftermarket, and auto work still

The tsi manipulates the timing, as an addition or reduction from the factory timing.
alterations to the ignition system would be done as if you were upgrading it on a stock car. So for Au's and Ef's there not alot you can do about the coil pack setup, I have heard of some guys making better coils for these cars. Most coil pack cars have pretty stong spark any way. The JMM Tuner is made by a company here in australia called Morris Tech, and they are very nice people. We also offer us an ECU that will completely take control of the ign timing not just manipulate it, haven't tried it but it may come in handy. However you would only use one if the situation calls for it. Have since fitted one to al EF Xr8 that was off its nut.....Car tuned up Perfectly and easily with no troubles from the bigger injectors or huge cam. And just to make things trickier I fitter an AU MAF and had to tune that in aswell. I am happy with the Interceptor's ability to control even the big old V8's.
