Question AFR 165cc heads?

Basically i want to make my 220kw engine faster and was looking through some stuff and found these heads but dont know anything on them. would they make my car much faster. are they any better than my 220kw heads?
What power gain would i get if any?

Yes they are a decent head, and yes alot better then the heads on you car..

Personally I use VIC JNR heads (http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_...ictor_jr.shtml) but they are probably not what you really need if your just bolting heads on to your 5L

They will be a perfect match to your engine and will even give room to grow as far as cam and other upgrades go.
If you were to just bolt them on in place of your GT40P's you probly get a gain of around 20rwhp.
If your going to the trouble of a head swap i'd do the cam aswell mate.
Plenty of cams to choose from for the 5.0L just depends on what your application for the car is.

But yeah, definately the best "bolt on" head you can fit to a 5.0L Windsor.

Might want to put a decent intake manifold on that list too. Edelbrock Performer RPMII would be a nice match for the 165's.

I second that.
The 220 is a good ride std then once you let it breath, better again.
Some may disagree but I'm thinking if you go aftermarket heads, cam and intake you may only get another 30 odd rwhp on top of what you have now.

Dont mean to hijack the thread but what would suit a stock 351 windsor if someone where to change heads on it???

I prefer my AFR heads and i can get a set of AFR185cc heads pretty cheap right now

Im with Josh here, need to know what other mods you already have.

If all your intake and exhaust mods are sorted and your willing to run a tune, then you go and fit AFR165's and the cam of your choice, depedning on the cam you choose you will be looking at the 210-230rwkw mark or thereabouts.

I wouldnt change out the Explorer manifold either on a 5.0. It is a perfect match to a combo like that with the 165cc heads. A change to an Edelbrock/Trickflow for the extra 10 or so HP up top (**** factor) just isnt worth the money and the loss of low-end torque. I mean if you've got money to waste then yeah by all means throw one on, if not the Explorer will be more than adequate and will give the best low to mid-range torque out of any.

If your on a budget and considering the current exchange rate, wouldn't it be worth cleaning up the GT40Ps. I remember reading one member on here produced around 220rwkw with ported Gt40Ps. Also just curious, whats the weight difference between the standard heads and the 165s?
