Well I've done pretty good then cause the labour is $270:00 so if I can get it past the Minister of Finance I'll be going ahead. Thanks for the reply Blackers

I have superlows and have to take it easy going up drive ways as it rips the guard out otherwise. Would be good idea to get the guards rolled if you go superlows or lower. My preference is superlows cause stock AU's look like trucks with their ride height so they need something more than lows.

I got 4 springs fitted plus alignment for 150 bucks at goodyear, best I could find down geelong way anyway.

Yeah in stock form the au is quite the 4x4 eh. Pity about that because when we lower we have the looks of a standard hight car with the drawbacks of a lowered one, and when we dump we have the look of a sweet car with even worse problems underneath :P

mine rides on pedders lowest legal, aka very low.
LPG tank helps with it sitting level too.

better than S1 4wd mode

wifes AU rides on Lows, was done when we got the car. Mine being bargain central only cost me $100 for the springs. Got them off ebay (local too) and fitted them myself. Improved cornering heaps but got to watch out for speed humps.

I had the AU on XR springs. I think they are the same as lows.

Even at that height they were a pain in the bum with driveways and speedbumps. Sydney's roads are crap, so the same might not apply elsewhere.

I've just bought a BFII Fairmont. It's staying stock as a rock, except for 17s.

The old & the new:

Thanks blueoveal. Another pic, just for the heck of it:

Springs were straight off a series III XR8220. Shocks were ordinary Munroe gas. I had to put front and rear camber kits on.

I had superlows on my EL. They were just way to low for my tastes and driving conditions. Scraped everywhere and rode pretty hard. Had to get the front guards rolled beause the tyres were grabbing and bending the guards. Meh...never again.

I have Kings super super lows and love it, I have no problems clearing speed humps and the like, not like my mates in their lowered LS1s and mines lower than theirs, I do have 16's on it so that probably helps. Going to 19" F6 wheels soon so probably go to super lows to help with clearance. I have a bung back and I still like the ride. I use 2" lowered ultima shocks with them too (all I could find for how low I went)

Sorry don't have pics of it in it's current state (did most of the work to it end of last year) its nothin special, you prolly seen it round,I live at hallett cove and it sounds angry. Just picked up my seats today so will take some pics of it soon.

Anybody know of any how to threads for fitting BA seats to an AU? if not maybe do a how to thread myself.

If you figure out an easy way to do it then a How to thread would be awesome.

kiraly_75- I wouldnt go any lower than that, get some different shoes instead 19" or something.
Cause 15"'s that low your likely to meet a speed hump somewhere, and once the front wheels are over it'll run all the way down your muffler :(,
