Hi all,
New to the forum but wanted to ask, does anyone know if somebody has put together a strip only AU Falcon. I'm asking as I have had a half decent search on the net and haven't come across anyone who has look at it as yet. Yeah, yeah, I know it an AU, but it might be something different. Ta! |

Your answer is yes. Max (I think that was his name) Carpenter from Carpenter Ford in Gatton Qld has an AU XR8 drag car. I believe he built it from scratch by using a shell FoA sold him. As for details, I like you, have scoured he web but can't seem to find anything. It was blue, if that helps.

It was in Street Machine - April 2001. Half chassis, 392 cube windsor, 630hp, C4, 5250rpm converter, ran 9s.

Thanks Peuty!
What I am thinking about is, most seem to go new drivetrain into old body. Makes sense! But I have an AU wagon that is a very neat car and realistically worth bugger all to anyone in today's market. Therefore, thinking a bit different from the normal and looking at putting a 400-450hp approx. Clevo under the bonnet and just set it up as a straight line car with a bit of a difference to have fun with. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks again. |

Thanks GTP, I'll have a hunt for that one.
I've just seen a guy on here with a 14sec blue AU wagon. Can anyone provide any info or a link on this blokes car? Thanks. |

couple of others around, Tom Coonan has an supercharged outlaws AU with a hemi in it, PAUL DOEBLIEN has a au ute with I think big block ford 545 cubes and runs mid nines, the Moresby's in WA have a clevo powered BA ute that runs mid nines as well. Carpenters son is now driving the AU in super sedan.

Another AU was run in Super Stock, possibly B/Gas by Phillip Taylor from NQ. The car was a full tube chassis, all white with a red logo on the front doors shaped like a Ford Logo but said "Taylor Made". From memory he rolled it at Kwinana a couple of seasons back
