Default Pub Prints

What are members thoughts on the latest procedure of hotels using finger print scanners to check patron's age and identity?

Likewise, it's getting bad, the amount of times you go out and have to avoid getting into a fight with some bloke who's had a few too many.

part of the reason why i'm not huge on going out to pubs/clubs much anymore.

So how does it work? I've never had my finger prints taken... would the data be onsold, provided to the police, etc?

On the face of it I'm not comfortable with the process, although I do appreciate it may act as a deterent for all but the thugs who will spoil for a fight regardless of big brother.

Agreed.

Problem is that it'd probably be a voluntary system initially, so it wouldn't do much to stop people who are going there to start fights as they'd be unlikely to give up their prints, but they'd still be able to get in. Excluding them based on that could be a civil rights can of worms.
