Yes - it fades to silver with use.

MUCH cheaper to have the normal items coated by somewhere like Modicoat.[/QUOTE]

Got a quote off modicoat to do 2xdoor spears and t-bar surround in carbon fibre.
$395 :

Now I just have to decide whether it's worth another $190+ to replace the t-bar with a leather+chrome Ghia version...
$190!!?! You will get one off EBAY for just under $100

Did this mod to Dads Fairmont and you'd be surprised how much of a difference it makes. Just really lifts the whole console area and ties it in with the dash, makes it look less 'cheap'.

For those who are worried about pulling the console out to do it - don't be. Dad is absolutely paranoid about that sort of thing, it took me about 2 years to convince him to let me do it and about 10 to do the job. 4 bolts for the console, slide it out, take your shifter apart (dont be scared, you cant break anything, it all just comes apart easily and quickly, and goes back together too), put your new bits in (just clips together), put it all back together and you're done. You'll love the result.

Oh and BTW, AutoTek used to have MOMO shifters for $70, and that wasnt that long ago.
