Went to Perth Motorplex tonight, first time I've run the Focus. Bit hard to get it off the line with it wanting to wheelspin and axle tramp lots.
Anyways, best time of 14.590 @ 98.25mph. 60ft time of 2.47 :( Mods are ECU spacer and my own custom tuning. Stock tyres, 40psi tyre pressure, 3/4 tank of fuel, spare in boot etc etc. I was hoping for a 2.0-2.2 60ft time but that is only going to come with better tyres.

Not a bad time, but 40 psi in front tyres i think is a bit to much. how many Ks has she done ? Cheers Mick. |

It's a LV Mick in EO. Yeah 40psi is high, didn't have a pressure gauge to drop the pressures unfortunately. Next time I'll bring one.

14.5 for a FWD hatch is pretty good I reckon. I remember (back in the day!) going for a blast in a mate's Commodore SV5000 that had 200kwatt and it was a 15.3sec car down the quarter. Felt pretty quick to me! Mind you, I was only 17 and was driving a 76 Escort coupe 1.6...

Not bad at all. Best I've run at the Plex is a 14.861 at 93mph. My 60' was 2.3. Car Stock and on a 35C day.
