Im really stuck at the moment... I've been searching for the past six or so months looking for a car to drag race. Originally i wanted an XD with a 351, then an ED with a twin-turbo intercooled setup, now an EA with single turbo.... (you can tell im a chick can't you, can't make my mind up : )
I've been told to just race what i've got on the street but i would have rocks in my head if i dragged my beloved XB!!! I would prefer to have a car that i can put on the street but a good enough car that i can learn the drag racing ropes, in! Preferably auto!!! I've seen too many people lose time gear changing! So help!! I would love a few suggestions!! |

value for money is a turbo rotisserie ....
Personally, I prefer V8s and would get a XD or XE V8 but if it doesn't bother you , get a cheap **** EA and whack a turbo on it. |

An XD 351 could be picked up pretty cheap these days, and there are always cheap go fast bits in the trading post for them. For a drag car I think a TC Cortina with a 351 Windsor stroked to 427 would be hard to go past. Add a tough C10 auto, 9 inch and some fat rubber and look out.

Nothing wrong with racing an XB. I sure as hell do Plenty of people race XA/B/C's. Clevo's are good once sorted.
A mate of mine ran 15.2's with a 302/4 spd manual and 3.5 single spinner. If I remember right the engine was stock then? Then we added cam/cleaned up the ports/3.5 LSD 9" and never raced it again. ROFL.

I know theres nothing wrong with racing an XB but i will be devastated if anything happened to her, like me hitting the wall!!!!!! Plus, im keeping her 250 and only adding a 2v head + extractors, so she wouldn't do anything overally special! lol

If highly doubt you'd break anything with the six. Since the driveline is all designed for a V8.
