Pete, definately go the 7 letter aluminium ones. The font looks so much better.
The polycarbonate ones these days look crap with the boring "BLOCK" letter font, they used to be heaps better as each letter had like a little "foot" on it to give it some style, now they are just boring. Aluminium all the way.

Cool. Thanks Jeff I'll definitely go the aluminium ones.
Now to squeeze my choice onto 7 letters.

so how does it work?
do you just ring vicroads, request the plates, and they'll tell you if they're available or not? edit: perthroads?

Yeah I can ring and find out from the DPI for WA what plates are available.
I haven't even done that yet so I guess I better do that before I order them. AUSOME thanks mate but doesn't suit my EL XR8 at all.

Righto I've settled on my private plates.
its.....drum roll..........UNCUT Reason for it is I'm a big movie fan and I love it when movies that were out at the cinema come to DVD uncut, unrated, unedited. It also describes my XR8. Ford brought it out in its edited form from the factory and me as the director I've made it UNCUT. Takes about 4 to 5 weeks to arrive. I'll post pics up once I get them.

Does anyone have an example of dark green background on aluminium plates? If its dark enough I'll go green instead of black because my car is Heritage Green.
Also changed my mind again going back to having XRUNCUT as per my original plan.

why not something that you can use on car you will own in the future? im in perth as well and have 5USP3CT (suspect) on my ute. have had it on 4 other cars that i have owned over the years and it has suited them all. cops thought it was pretty appropriate when i got defected a few times with one of my old cars haha
i have aluminium plates, the slimline on the front and the normal size on the back. cost me 330 i think it was. they are in the same black and white as what you want. they have been on white, red, grey and black now and have suited the colours. black is good cos it will go with anything. if u had green ones then get a blue car it would look weird.

Good point matteh. I think I'll stick with black and make it suit any car.
Cheers for the advice.
