Im about to go and have alook at this:
http://www.tassiecars.com.au/srchres...1&var=xr6&key= Its the 2nd car down the red eb "xr6" In my tiredness last night when I enquired I didnt even notice it didnt have the twinlights at the front? I rang him this morning and asked why and he said only ED's got them? Personally I think its bullshitt because I know of plenty of EB's with twinlights, but he insists that its a genuine XR? Can anyone explain why no twin lights? |

still badged falcon s xr6 too.
pop the bonnet. would surely be some info on here somewhere about the change over date. "The XR6 and XR8 gained a quad round headlight treatment with the ED." from a EA-ED club website. |

late eb series 2 got the twin lights. I remember this disctinctly from back in the early 90's when xr6's were my dream cars.

Only EDs got the twinlights. It's the easiest way to pick an EBII XR from an ED. Also EBII was known as S-XR6, ED was straight XR6. That does look legit. An EBII XR6 looked like an S-pack except for a standard lip spoiler, the XR6 decal on the back, and a polished version of the S-pack rims.
DEVLXR is an EBII XR6 and it didn't come with the quad headlight front either. Braden fitted it himself, as many EA-ED owners do later.

Late model EB's had a couple of the ED traits. Such as the fuel filter near the tank and not near the motor for example. My EB was a 11/92 build. It had no quad lights, but had the ED xr6 boot badge from factory and the fuel filter near the tank. Like Dez said, no EB's came out with the quad lights. Though, many people have put them on at a later stage.

yeah its genuine and over priced but hey aren't all car yard cars over priced?? Ive seen better cheaper ED XRs on ebay and car sales. Private sales are the way to go even have a look on the forum.

I guess I stand corrected on this, but I was certain that late eb II's had the quad lights.
Good to know I was wrong.

Thanks for all the help. I never knew that they didnt but its good to know. Without starting a new thread can I ask what EB2 and ED xr6's came with as standards> Nothing on the internet as Ive already searched, more just want to know:
Electric windows - If only 2 at the front is the loom there for the back ones? Cruise control - I know its an option on them, but is it as easy to fit as it is on an ef? Head - Were these stamped differently? 91DT rings a bell but Im not sure and this is more just to tell if its genuine or not Does the xr6 have low series or high series wiring looms? As in Ill probably put in the illuminated key holes and courtesy lights later on What k's should I be looking at? Obviousely I know about the headgasket and such but at what k's should I be concerned about a T5? How often do clutches go? etc. etc. etc. Count this as a wanted ad too Thanks Davo |

Check the firewall where the clutch cable passes through - prone to cracking. Plenty of threads on that one!
Heads have a big T stamped on them on the front. From memory, EB XR6's had momo steering wheel as standard, ED's was optional. |
