how long do drive belts last?? and what are the signs of a drive belt needing a change? When doing the drive belt what else do you need changing!!??

depends on the state of your pulleys and bearings
Cracks on the underside, alot of rubber 'dust' Check all your pulleys:- waterpump and A/C compressor head..Free spin the idler bearings and the alternator

yeah it has a few small cracks here and there!! i read on a repair manual that they have a wear mark indicator on the idler pulley?? how do i use this or how the hell do i read it??

OMG i called Ford today just to see how much a new belt will cost me,,,they want $88 for the drive/serpentine belt... you can get a Dayco one for a bit under half of that!!!
