Default Fiesta service, but.........

G'day All,

Why do i never feel happy after a service?. Took the car in for a service, told them i had problems with the A/C during summer(only blew hot air) and fix the plastic underneath the front bumper because a clip let loose.

On pick-up i was told they can't do the A/C because they don't know the problem and it's a A$159 job. have to agree to pay first, have them look at it, before Ford decides it's a warranty claim : . The clip was fixed as good as they could : (said so on the job sheet) and i need to rotate the wheels and ballance for another A$66. I rather do that at my regular tyre place who i know are good at it.
But, my biggest complain is that the car feels just the same as before. Is it just me or should a car feel better than before the service?.

They also said i should have a fuel service done for another A$139. My goodness, why is a car still in a warranty period if everything is extra?.

I was looking forward to a new Fiesta or the Focus when they roll of the Aussie line, but now i'm not so sure.

Anyway, i feel better now :

Regards,

Rob

theres no real reason why the car would feel differant after a service. Unless your tyre pressures were really low or something. Fuel service? what a joke.

My Subie Forester XT always felt heaps better after the service

Two reasons

1. Was flushed with Upper Engine Cleaner

2. Service techs would reset the ECU and then drive it hard

UEC for Subie turbos is one of the most widely used and needed, engine treatments.

I ended up doing it myself when needed.

It's also known as Motorcraft Combustion Chamber and Induction Cleaner. Exact same product sold by Ford. It's bloody good stuff too. And only about $10 a can or something. Cheap as chips at the Footy.

Hi All,

Another rant!. On the sticker on the windscreen for the next service says this:

Time: 30000
Date: 30000
Yet, the box is ticked for May. And on the jobsheet, the next service is due 20/10/10. So, which one is it???????.

Regards,

Rob

It is ?

I tried the Motorcraft one a few times and it seemed to foam a lot less than the Subie one ?

Also smelt a lot different (but smoked the same out the exhaust )

It is 100% exactly the same product, with a different label.

Made by Bars Leaks, the same company. Trust me!

Yep, you are right (unless Ford add something or remove something or Subie screw them over )

I ran a patent search and found Bars Leaks and Subaru share the patent (Subaru requested product development specifically for their boxer engines many years ago). Ford buy it off Subaru.

Although DuPont used to manufacture one to the trade a few years back and Wolfchester used to sell a version too supplied by Shrader (Canada). (I still have a can somewhere that we brought back from the USA)
