Default EB questions

hey fellas
first time on the forum
mad stuff
i got an eb fairmont on super lows
headers 2/12 exhaust k&n pod thats basically it....my mate has the same month eb fairmont and hes only got a generic pod and a cat back...but it gos alot harder than mine...he thinks his timing is advanced...is there any other reasons..there both autos...could it be that i have a diff problem cos my cars suspiciously laggy off the line...cheers..

on another note i'm thinkin off shift kitting and putting in a high stall..as i know nothing bout shift kits does any one have any suggestions?

What year is your fairmont? What condition are the leads and spark plugs in?

Welcome aboard! The first thing to check is the throttle cable. If it is stretched you lose a lot of performance, as happened to me once.

its a 1992 ebII

new throttle cable
plugs and leads probly were changed about 10-15thou ago
new fuel filter
rail was cleaned around the same time
maybe i just have a dud engine

alsoi ordered a thing that makes my ecu think the airs cold
that plugs into ya aire intake sensor
got it today will post some feedback on how it gos

Hmm, ok, what is the compression like? And when was the transmission last serviced?

well i dunno how the compression is
i'm not good with cars
i know a little but my mate with his eb lives up the street and hes a mechanic so he keeps me in the know

i got a head rebuild a few thou ago and a new tranny bout 10-15
new lifters and
but occaisionally i hear knocks which appear to be commin from the rear end of the drive shaft
could it be that my diff is sticky or ed?
