am I better off checking actual downtown in Gold Coast or take a quick recon bus/train to Brisbane to see if I like the city I'd like to move to in a few months?

do a bit of both? downtown Gold Coast is nothing to write home about, except maybe the nightlife which you won't be here for anyway.

Gold Coast has a downtown now??? When did that happen???
You should go on a fishing charter for the day. Some company's won't be operating over the winter, but you should be able to get a trip out in early June. Either that or the Casino, that never fails to impress. I love it there, I'm down at Conrad every other week, it's a great place to spend a couple of hours. |

dont bother going to Brisbane. theres only one place you can go there, Queen street mall, other than that not alot to do. when i lived in brissy i prefered going to the gold coast as it made me feel more like a tourest, which i enjoyed, and theres more to do. just spend the day on the beach relaxing. thats what i'd do.

if things keep going as bad as they are at work, I'll be moving to Brisbane/Gold/Sunshine Coast a lot sooner than I had originally planned...
