Default where can i get cold air induction??

hi all,

where in brissy can i go to get a cold air induction setup?? i can get a the filter from repco/supercheap (k&n of course), but where can i get a decent sized snorkel? and some piping so i don't have to run the dodge plastic pipe. or if there's a place that sells a complete setup that would be great

cheers all

i took out the panel filter housing and have the cover with the snorkel covering it....would it be better to just have the pod exsposed...was just thinkin along the lines that the cover might keep some heat out...

go to bunnings and buy 90mm pvc piping and the elbow bends you need. then fibreglass over the whole lot it works out heaps cheaper and then u can paint it or what ever. fibreglass has better heat reflection properties than most metals.

get a peice of alluminuim, make a template out of cardboard, to fit where you wan it to gao and then cut ti out using a metal blade on a jigsaw. file off the rough edges and make or get some brakes out of the left over alluminium and away you go it easly done. but i still reckon that going to bunnings and using 90mm PVC is the best way to go, you can also get the rubber conections and hose clamps to fit the throttle body.

the rubber fittings were like $10 it fitts the throttle body and the 90mm PVC, the heat sheild can be mounted to the bolts for the air box or just make new ones but be sure you don't cut in to the chassis.

wat about the stamped plated metal for a heat sheild?

you mean checker plate? it comes in alluminium and steel. can get from bunning to yeah you can use that.

i actually cut a hole under where my air box used to be and made the pvc pipe go through there and down just behind the front bar good cold air down there.

cold air works a treat i used 2x 90deg bends and one 22deg. to tilt it towards the front bar. i didn't bother with the pod filter inside the engine bay evan with a heat sheild it will still get hot and there is not much moving air inside the corner people put it in. the pvc should be coverded in fibreglass not bog because of the great het deflection properties. i went and spent $50 on fibreglass stuff and i think i could make a whole boat, i didn't realise how little i needed. the only thing i am carefull of is whel it rains the pod will get wet. and thats not good. so i keep the stock bendy pipe to the stock airbox in my boot and when it looks like rain i swap the pod onto that. i would have some pics to show u but im not on my own computer. send us a pm with ur email and i'll send u some pics of the set up if you would like.
