Default Selling without RWC?

Hi there

I did do a search for this however I did not find anything on it, although I can't imagine it hasn't been covered before!

I'm just wondering if it is possible to sell my 92 Falcon with REGO but without a RWC to a mate of mine? (Victoria)

From the VICROADS website it seems like I can't??

Thanks

Daniel

you answered your own question

if you sell a vehicle in vic it must

1... have a roadworthy cert if it is going to be driven and the rego being sold with the vehicle and all relavent paper work done to accompany the sale

2... if you sell a vehicle without a roady you must hand the plates to vic roads till the vallid roady is done i think they give you 28 days

that is my take on it

hope that helps

Jason

i would take off the plates, sell the car to your mate and tell him that when he has a rwc done you will give back the plates so he can then transfer it into his own name. i have done this a few times and it works well for me.

I thought it was, if sold with rego.. the new owner has to provide a RWC within 28 days of the date on the transfer forms.
