Default Sydney to Perth Trip UPDATE

UPDATE TIME!

A few more sleeps to go now!

For those who dont know what I'm talking about visit www.anracing.com.au

Check out the writeup in the local newspaper...

We have a few radio interviews to do whilst making our way over to WA as well.

Don't forget nightly updates will be on www.anracing.com.au

We are still accepting sponsorship-donations right up until we return from the trip.

Cheers,

Roy :

Sash is sort of short for Aleksander!

Yeah the trip should be great, we are taking plenty of spares as well.

We have fitted those Shoo Roo plastic things on the front of the car to help well shoo the roos!

We did fuel consumption test a couple of weeks ago driving to Goulburn and back...it used 26L/100km!

That was just cruising at 110km/h with the tacho sitting on 2800rpm thanks to the 3.0 diff gears.

Lucky we have the 164L tank fitted huh!

Cheers

Good trip, guys. The whiting and salad at SHELL Ceduna is great !! The Nullabor will be a challenge with wildlife. Mundrabilla Roadhouse is interesting. and WA cops use light aircraft to check speeding across the Nullabor.
Safe trip...

Watch out for the Highway Patrol once you get West of Ceduna to the SA Border with WA....it seems like a very lonley part of Australia, but they are out there.
They usualy run a crappy looking army camoflage jeep 4 wheel drive vehicle, its a mobil radar trap comming straight towards you....about 5 to 10 kilometres behind is a HSV persuit car....theres no where for you to go.

If you go off road the 4 X 4 has got yer, the HSV persuit car is for if you try to make a run for it on the Bitumen to get away from the 4X4.

On the WA side the patrol cars are uniformed but their radar reaches a long way down the long straight road, you will have little warning.

When your motoring through those 2 parts of the country, it will seem like they would not be out there...they are ok.

You must have clear vision of nothing on the road for a long ways...watch yourselves ok!

Cheers
