I need to know how to remove the door panel from the inside of my AUII. Spent a while on it today and couldnt get the bastard off!
I know there is the 3 visible screws on the edges from the outside, and they other screw under the electric window switch, but even after undoing all those the thing wont come off, it is like there is another screw where the handle meets the door at the top. The exact same with both doors, very annoying. I am doing this to spray the tracks of the elec windows with silicone spray.

You have removed door handle I take it? Im pretty sure once you take that off and the 4 screws its just a matter of the right amount of force. I was pretty rough when I did mine on the taxi so I could have missed a screw or 2.Why dont you just spray it in the groove? It will slied down and anyway I dont think its needed in the area in the door as they wont have rotted/be full of mud. Just do the visible ones and I can nearly guarantee problem will be gone.

There is this tutorial to read through. Basically it sounds like you were missing 2 bolts. One behind the door handle and one behind one of the little round things that just pop out. After there the door will need a bit of force to be pulled off as it has clips.

Had to remove my back door trim to change door striker as had blown to bits, got trim off, went to wreckers with door held shut by tiedown hooked into steel piece and tied to seat belt anchors.Striker fitted at wreckers and trim refitted.
The worst part was the piddly hole for 10mm socket to fit into the round hole, used a drill socket and low speed on the Dewalt 12v drill.

Went and spent a good $40 on a socket bit and handle, only to get home and see the damn thing would fit in the hole in the plastic! : Pretty much threw the towel in and sprayed the rubber seals with some silicone, seems to have improved...

Just spray the rubber seals with silicone and move the windows up and down a few times. Then repeat.
Do this regularly and it'll eventually work it's way down. |
