Default Anyone Else have problems with CD's Skipping?

Hi
Anyone else having problems with their CD player skipping? Mine skips badly when you hit even small bumps. Don't know if it is an issue with just my CD player or the whole lot of them.

nope, mine is good but noisy and slow. Are you using a CD-R when it happens?

Yep always use CD-R's in it as I don't want to kill my originals. Would that be the problem...?

Mines going in this morning at 8.00 for a whole new replacement Unit. The CD player had faulty bits inside it and it made grinding noises in the loading Mechanism. Ill be without the car for 2 days.

Oh and it used to skip easily too.

I use CD-R's sometimes but it does'nt skip. Although I've noticed CD-R's cause it to seek between tracks a lot slower then an original CD.

Ford say in the manual that CD-R/W and CD's with a scratch protective coating should not be used as they may not function correctly. In other words, it's an el cheapo CD player with old technology lol!

Try out an original CD and if it still skips, you may be joining the same boat as Danny :sm_headba

Good Luck!
