Default Out of ideas!

I am trying to think of some simple modifications I can do to my AU, but getting stuck for ideas to be honest..

I have done,
- Cam
- Full exhaust
- Diff
- Intake

I intend on doing headwork and bigger cam, and a tune shortly.

What are some other mods I can do to improve the i6?

I am 50 / 50 with a manual conversion, but it will be far to expensive, as will a high stall at the moment?

Any ideas?

Or you could trade it on a turbo6. Simple and effective. And save you a lot of money; oh wait, you've already spent too much! LOL.

Do u mean intake as in just a filter? or do u have a full aluminum system? or steel. If not get a 3in system made up for ya intake. Umm not much else can really be done, maybe 70mm throttle body?

Sounds like you've done the basics really. From here, if you keep it NA, everything else is fairly exxy with not that great returns.

A higher stall will help it get off the line, makes them much more fun IMO.

Gee whiz, better get rid of the POS T series then and upgrade to a GT, simple and effective. Oh wait, youve already spent too much!!! LOL.

J/K, I love the T-Series, but if he's anything like me, I dont want to upgrade to a Turbo, I dont like anything after the AU really (maybe a g6et), maybe he just wants to have fun with what he's got?

??? I have had this car sinse I was 17, I have a history with it. Im not just going to fob it off and try "upgrade".

I want to work with what I have, I dont see anything wrong with that. I would love to own a real T3 oneday, but insurance is far too high!

I will be turboing the car again in a year or so, but until then just wanted to see what I have missed!

Yeah mate, I was being a bit facetious with my comment - just keep plugging away the way you've been doing. No matter how much we put into our cars it never comes back to us in resale value so just get it how you want it.

Hey if you think insurance for a T3 is expensive then you better not turbo your motor - insurance is totally impossible on an aftermarket (non-factory built) turbo on a petrol engine car. Well, SOME companies will insure you but the premium will be about 25% of the market value of the car.

PS The Monty> ... but why would I want to downgrade? LOL.

I would say T3man was about right in his estimate then!

That's an awful lot of money to insure a 7+ year old 6cyl Falcon for.

Sorry to sound harsh mate, but how on earth can you justify over 2.5k a year for insurance on an AU1. This is one instance where to me 3rd party wins out.

also with NRMA, they turned around to me and basically said "do whatever you want to it as long as it complies with QLD Transport, apart from that we don't care" and THAT was the end of the conversation.

I pay around 1600 a year but my excess is about 1400 if im at fault so a tad high, justcar only wanted 1200 but you have to pay upfront.

Can't wait to finally get her sitting slower, (insert complaint here)

I agree.

I used to pay around $100/month less, then i basically moved to the ghetto.. :(

It was the cheapest out of all options which i explored!

Gonna check out justcars in December though. If i could get it for less than $1500 i'll be happy

Damn some of you guys are getting ripped for insurance. I only pay $750 odd a year for the XR8 with Shannons and they know ALL of my mods. No garage either, although that will change shortly

Shannons insured me when I was under 25. It seems luck has a lot to do with it when you are under 25 and calling them. Some at the call centre will do it, some won't.

You need to know somebody at Shannons to get through the door if you're under 25. I have had 3 cars with them, been with them since I was 19 (I'm 23 now) and have the FG on there with a value of $40k for around $80/month.
