History has told us that Ford's response of dumping the V8 wasn't the most considered response that still has consequences to this day.

Besides, Ford now has the Territory for those that still want/need a larger family car.
yea and the medium size commodore almost sent holden bankrupt yea real winning strategy. people dont want small cars, people want economic cars - big difference

I'm resonably convinced that these power and torque moves are mainly from program changes. Whether Ford will want to pass these on to earlier cars is however is unlikely.

There's always the aftermarket though - but I'm sure they don't have the resources to evaluate cam phasing, emmissions, longevity etc to the extent Ford does.

Did all the Territory owners just discover this thread?

The 190 also has a higher compression ratio, two knock sensors and I'm guessing that some work was done to the combustion chamber to allow for the higher comp;

What's everyones take on this;
Quote:
Power is up from 182 kW to 190 kW (picking up the name Barra 190 in the process). This is ostensibly the same as the maximum output of the most potent of Holden's new 3.6-litre V6s, the Alloytec 190. But Ford and Holden use different international standards to measure engine output. Ford's results in bigger figures by a few per cent.
I hate when reviewers casually throw in something like that with no explanation.

bah i don't know if it matters all that much Ford use DIN holden ECE. But many times Fords have been put on the dyno and have shown to have the right amount of power that is quoted sometimes a little more. Some holdens have had the same and some have had less.
