Default It's a wonder I dont drink!

A while ago I posted this pic (in the Art and Photography section) of the Resident Dragon Lady's Roundup footprints on the front lawn..... (spray the driveway with Roundup then walk through sprayed area onto lawn!)

Well yesterday she scored another win for Blonde's when I got a phone call in the Truck to say the Barge was making a 'funny noise'..............

Wife.. "The cars making a funny noise when I accelerate"
Me.. "What sort of noise?"
Wife..."I don't know, a kind of fwooshing sound"
Me.."On Gas or Petrol?"
Wife.."I don't know.... I'll call you back"
......
Wife "On Gas and Petrol"
Me... "Front or back?"
Wife.."It seems to be from the back. What do I do"

Seeing as I was about 400 ks away I said take it to the garage.
15 mins later ....

Wife... "He found out what the noise is"
Me..(Thinking differentials and big dollars) "What is is?"
Wife..."Umm......a flat tyre"

The conversation ended there!!

I just had a moment then that made everyone here just shake their heads...and then burst out laughing!

Needed to take a video back to the video shop so I grab the RAV4 keys go to the car and hit the unlock button...Nothing! Batteries are dead in the remote.

Me, being the smart, intelligent person that I am, then said to Jack...Oh no...How am I going to get into the car now?

He just started laughing and said...Ummm...Try using the key.

Talk about having a blonde moment!

Lady at work who I probably shouldnt poke fun at (but a good friend so what the heck) sadly had her husband pass away (also a good friend).

Said husband took care of everything car related and worked at a local dealer.

Anyway....some time after the good man passed she became convinced the car was buggered as it was steering like a pig. Dropped into the trusted service department who troubleshoot for a couple of hours given the descriptions given. Call later in the day and ask her to come in as they need to show her the issue.

20psi in the tyres. Had never checked a tyre in her life. No charge from the dealer naturally.

She has now done a 'Women and Wheels' course at the same dealer and is fully equipped to tackle the woes of her BA XR And Ive taken a mental note to help double check for her any time she has an issue

The point of the post is these courses are fun and a great way for them to spend a few hours. They come out knowing men are now obsolete in their lives and no longer need them. MT's Port Adelaide for Adelaide people.

We're moving house in the next few weeks, and with all the associated problems I'm sure she can find something worthwhile

I had a non mechanical friend ask me what the watering can light on the dash of her 1980 corolla meant.

I said it wasn't good and asked how long it had been on for.

She said "oh a few weeks, but its not on all the time, just sometimes'

She also asked me once how much it was going to be to fix her grinding brakes....hmmm. (She was also in Army Reserve so was occasionaly given guns to play with...scary. She now works in IT and has a company car...its suits her much better)

Well I didn't think I could top the whole Dead battery in the remote but today...Even I was shaking my head in total embarrassment!!

I was running late for work, got to the car (Yes... remote worked!) Put the key in....Nothing! Car wouldn't start....Just what I need!!

So I call the RACV. Wait 20mins...not bad, hope the car doesn't need anything major, should still make my meeting in time.

So I tell the lovely RACV man what the issue is and he says could be the battery but he will have a look. So he hops in the car and I hear this sound in his voice that has me concerned.

"I have found the issue..."

"Really? That quick..what's wrong?"

You have left it in Drive...Not Park!! :

It truely has been one of those days!! :(

Hey...I am old skool! If it was the coupe, I would have run through a WHOLE check list...Ok check the dizzy, coil, starter motor, battery etc etc...

I looked under the hood of the RAV4 once....stared in disbelief, closed the bonnet and slowly walked away...

Looking over to the passenger seat to see her smiling intensley, i said what so amusing, she replied can we stop and have a look cause ive never seen any refugees before let alone living in the city.

My daughter couldn't get her former boyfriend to put oil in her car and lazy bastard wouldn't do it, so she filled the engine up herself, and when I say 'filled', I mean FILLED - LOL

:togo: Got in an auto and tried to start the car, nothing, was about to get on the phone and realised the car was in D... Not to mention couldn't get the XR8 to start recently, new battery so didn't even check,no power initially, checked all the fuses, got power, decided it couldn't be the battery, gave the starter motor quite a few taps with no result. NRMA guy rocks up and goes through the same steps, then checks the battery terminals as a last resort as he also thinks the starter is gone. Turns out the battery terminal connector had come loose due to my decision to buy on looks rather than quality :togo: Yes, I'm a tool...
