Default Street Machine of the Year

Hello everyone,
As allot of people know, my car was on the cover of the July issue of Street Machine Magazine (Blue/Silver XA GT Coupe), well it has made the top 16 and is in the running for Street Machine of the year. Now I know there are allot of cars that deserve to win, but if you would like to see a FORD win then please vote for my car, it would be really appreciated.

PS, I sold the car last week, and it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Hopefully it has gone to a good home.

Cheers
Dean.

Good luck with it Dean, you're up against some stiff competition this year for sure.

Thanks, really I would have loved to have kept the car but there are allot of other things that I would like to do, so something had to go, I am planning on building another FORD down the track but this time it will be more of a custom car. I got what what I was asking for the car and it has gone to Sydney. But the hardest thing is walking into an empty Garage.

I have the MINTGT plates For Sale, but I am asking top dollar for them as I am in no real hurry to part with them.

very nice car,
i remember trying to find some faults with the body at summernats a few years back (atleast i think it was the same car - didnt have the blower then)
i couldnt spot one!! very clean n tidy

youve got some tough competition this year (myers, mcbeth, arblaster, jones, etc...)

sadly you wont be getting my vote this month, i voted for Mark Fabars '28 Ford pickup - i absolutely LOVE that car

Hhhmm yeah I think I recall the car, if it's the one I'm thinking of then wow, I had no idea you were a forum member. You're a pro skateboarder or BMX dude or something right? I'm not sure who I'm voting for this year as the mag with the voting form and list of competitors hasn't reached NZ shores yet, but you'll certainly be up there on the list. Is the black Mustang from NZ with the LOW ET plates in the list? That car is so fricken awesome the photos just don't do it justice. I met the owner of the car at the Beach Hop earlier this year and he's a hell of a nice guy.

I noticed in the main pic of the coupe that the right hand door wasnt aligned properly at the bottom left corner and i no im piccy how come the bonnet sat up a bit at the rear?

I noticed the bonnet sticking up at the back too, is this intentional? My XA has the same thing...

It cant be intentional because its meant to sit flat and flush with the pannels.

You are right, however Deans car is a much tuffer setup and is regularly street driven, not a trailor queen, i will vote for it due to the fact it IS a STREET machine.

Could be intentional to allow heat venting?

Well done Patchie. Good to see you got what you wanted for the car. Glad to here your still going to be playing with some sort of custom. I would be more than happy to vote for the old girl. Sorry to see it go to NSW thought. Good luck with everything. Big John

Thanks Guys,
I never built it to be a show car, and the paint job was done about 10 years ago. I agree the black Coupe is allot better than mine, but this is what I had. The reason for the bonnet was to let some of the hot air out of the bay, every little bit helped keeping it cool. But at the end of the day I drove it and had allot of fun in it. Having Street Machine approach me and then making the cover was just an added bonus.

Cheers
Dean.

Correct it is to allow heat out, unless the engine is running hot dont worry about it, but most can do with a little extra cooling assistance.

Thanks,
Remember the Plates are ForSale, but the price may scare some people.
