Default Demerit Points - How many do you have?

Hey everyone,

Well today I was pulled over by the Police for talking on my mobile (stupid) and managed to rack up 3 demerit points plus a warning for my rear P plate not being visible enough (tinted wndows).

This got me wondering how many demerit points people have managed to accumulate over the years and for what reasons?

Anyone have any stories? How many demerit points have you built up and how did you get them? Anyone out there with a perfect record?

Let's here it...

2 points for not displaying P-plates years ago, and 4 points for 70km/h in 60 zone by a camera earlier this year in a rental corolla.

I have to be honest, i'm suprised with the amount of points you can get for going over the speed limit just a little bit. Def going to be watching my speed like a hawk from now on.

Still got all mine, but a mate was down to negatives and never got the letter about the deal thingy you get or the last fine he got. it was only when he got a random stop did he find out he had an unpaid fine.

LOL thats awsome respect!

Well i have 0 at the moment, but i keep expecting to see a camera fine in the mail, only on my red P's though (from victoria) so only get 5 points, so im being slightly cautious.

Question though, once i move to greens do i get more points added?

Regarding P2, I don't think so.

"Respect"??? What a joke, both to the driver and the people high fiving the act...

Wonder what we would be saying if you lost it and tore the car to bits with a Chev badge on the grille.

No wonder we have a thread a week about the crap we see on the road.

4 points left for me, switching from my greens to my blacks, saved me from the licence getting suspended.

God bless the SDRO taking forever to process fines. :

Not many. I had five warrants out for me not long ago for traffic infringements. Think I've eaten my way through most of my points.

Good call Yellow_Festiva - I agree with you 110%.

pottery beige - your an absolute fool - bragging about that on a public forum. Pity there is a swear filter in place.

My first ever offence was drifting a round about in the wet in front of an unmarked. Got done for neg driving which was 3 points and a $318 fine.

Second offence was speeding 124km/h. 4 points and $243 fine. Suspended for 3 months.

Third and final offence was speeding again at 137km/h on my way home from a ford club cruise. Unsure how many points but was $621 fine and another 3 months suspension.

Not long ago got my license back and am very cautious now. My car seems to get followed a bit these days.

I cant see the point in having thread where people brag about breaking the law doing stupid unsafe speeds, risking others lives and posting it like its some sort of celebration.
